Through March, 2012
The art of local Reno artist, Mark Hammon, is now displayed at the North Tahoe Event Center and will remain in the Center until March, 2012. Mark’s photography is the culmination of his love and appreciation of nature and the world around us, his visual acuity, and a strong interest in technology.
Past Exhibits
Through September, 2011
The imagery of long time local and world travel photographer, Chris Talbot, returned to the North Tahoe Event Center on June 1, 2011 and will remain in the Center until the end of September. To celebrate this exhibit and Lake Tahoe's special culture, an event will be held on Thursday, August 11 with some proceeds going to the North Tahoe Regional Park Friends of the Park Fund.

The art of local artist, Eva Nichols, comes to the North Tahoe Event Center on February 1st and will remain in the Center until May 4, 2011. To celebrate this exhibit and allow the public an opportunity to meet the artist and discuss her work, a reception will be held on Thursday, February 10th from 5:30 – 7:30 PM at the North Tahoe Event Center. Eva’s watercolors reflect her many travel experiences. She is described as an “impressionist colorist”. In her art, she experiments with format and colors, using a variety of techniques to apply the paint to paper.

The art of long time local artist, Pat Edwards, comes to the North Tahoe Event Center on October 5th and will remain in the Center until January 4, 2011. To celebrate this exhibit and allow the public an opportunity to meet the artist, a reception will be held on Tuesday, October 5th from 5:30 – 7:30 PM at the North Tahoe Event Center. Pat’s current exhibit is an array of landscapes scenes, some of people, and others of Tahoe in her different moods with a mix of pastels, some acrylics, photos and mixed media.

The photography of local artist, Chris Talbot, went on display on July 2 and will remain in the Center through September. To celebrate this exhibit and the “Tahoe Lifestyle,” TahoeFest 2010 will return in August or September. All proceeds will go to the North Tahoe Regional Park children’s playground project in Tahoe Vista, CA.
Chris' current photography exhibit at the North Tahoe Event Center is an array of Lake Tahoe and International scenes on canvas. This new exhibit will include an International trilogy of scenes from Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand as well as Tahoe panoramas, trilogies and single pieces.
Through mid-May 2010
The paintings of local artist, Nance Leikhim, are on display and will remain in the Center until mid-May. This show focuses on water and skies. Ms. Leikhim has worked in a variety of media including watercolor, pastels, acrylics, oils and oil sticks. Her exhibit includes a large 98" wide painting named, "The River" which includes an analogy to life in its design. Smaller watercolor and mixed media pieces are on the theme of waterfalls and leaves falling.
Most of her current work has been in painting, but she has also done a numerous murals in homes and worked in Graphic Design for 25 years after earning a degree in Textile Design.
Starting November 17, 2009, through mid-February 2010
The paintings of local Painter Heidi Reeves are now on display at the North Tahoe Event Center. Reeves has worked in watercolor for many years but most recently has been working in pastels. Her exhibit will include a sample of her landscape and portrait work in these mediums.
Art has been a part of her life since birth. Her grandmother was an oil painter from the age of 7 or 8, and Heidi spent weekends with her. She would set her up with an easel and brushes and show her how to create magic. However, the magic was put on hold while married life and children took center stage. Heidi moved to North Lake Tahoe in 1979, but it wasn't until 1992 that she took her first watercolor class.

Starting August 15 2009, through mid-November 2009
The paintings of local artist May Au Manion will include work from two current series, Light of Dusk and The Nadia series, which are executed life-size and created in oil on canvas, pencil on paper, and charcoal.
May's work is inspired by observing how humans respond when they are faced with life’s challenging situation, whether historically, culturally, politically or socially. Through her work, she sees how the world responds to these people in challenge.

Through early August 2009
The photography of local artist, Chris Talbot, went on display on May 6 and will remain in the Center until early August. An artist reception will be held in early July at the North Tahoe Event Center.
Chris' current photography exhibit at the North Tahoe Event Center is an array of Lake Tahoe scenes on canvas as well as in lithograph forms. Chris uses a Mamiya 7II rangefinder camera and Fuji Velvia 50 Film and doesn't believe in Photoshop.

An extraordinary exhibition titled "The Artists' Universe" from the International Association of Astronomical Artists (IAAA), presented by Space Science for Schools, is on display through July 31, 2009 at the North Tahoe Event Center. The Artists' Universe will introduce visitors to the art and science of astronomical illustration.

Wild Encounters Photography
William Cooper and JoAnn Lippert are a husband and wife team from Nevada. They have traveled the world combining their passion for adventure travel and photography. Their passion for mountain climbing, trekking and white water rafting has taken them to all corners of the earth including The Kingdom of Mustang, India, Bhutan, Nepal, China, Mongolia, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Laos, and countries in South America, Africa and Europe. They have lived with stone-age people in Irian Jaya, Indonesia.

North Tahoe Event Center Begins Rotating Art Exhibits
The North Tahoe Event Center has partnered with North Tahoe Arts and the Art in Public Places program to provide rotating art exhibits available to the public. The Center hopes to provide a more inviting atmosphere through the showing of artwork with a connection to the North Tahoe Community, either through the artist or content of the work. By rotating the artwork, the Center also hopes to provide a reason for members of the community to come to the Center that might not otherwise have a reason to do so.
